I have a hotdog craving.

It's the weekend again!
I feel so accomplished today.
After work and after family duties, I washed the car with Leah.
I love how it is not super nice and clean :)
Spent some time staring at her new hamster..
Her bf and her decided they needed a 'child'.. hee hee..
I tried hinting to Q that we should get a cat but he's very good at pretending he doesn't get it. RAH.
The hamster is the cutest thing though...
Always loved how tiny their paws were.
After that I finished my paperwork and my income tax filing (which I have been procrastinating for the longest time).
And then I looked for materials for my kids and now I'm ready to shower and pack my bag for a House Season 6 marathon at Q's and a little sleepover :)
This week's looking pretty good.
It's another long weekend too!
How awesome.

Tension is building because of the upcoming elections though...
My dad is a SUPER PAP supporter.
And so he thinks there is no reason to support the opposition.
But I differ a little on this.
So there was a slight debate in the car on the way home just now..
and things are a little tense now.
But I really see no need in arguing.
You vote for whoever you think represents you and I vote for whoever I think represents my views.
We don't have to agree to get along.
I just hope this election changes something.

I'MM Home

Today Q and I made a trip down to IMM.
IT IS HUGE.
And it had almost everything.
The Daiso there is seriously quite the giant
And the best part about the trip is finding spelling mistakes :)
It is our pass time.
We found bannana and was contemplating on whether or not to tell the salesgirl when she came to ask if we needed help..
but she was so grumpy so we felt a little scared..
But the winner of the MONTH is..........Audley Hepburn!
ON A PEN.
Got copyright sign all. wow.

We stopped for dinner at Cafe Cartel and (I have to say this.) despite my warnings, Q decided that we can both finish a plate of ribs EACH.

PLEASE LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT.
I am very sure it is bigger than my FACE.
and on top of that, we had takopachi before going for dinner (because we walked past the store and I couldn't help but give in to the temptation).
You can be sure Q's smiling face was no more after dinner.
We were both just SUPER stuffed.
I am still feeling a bit sick from eating all that meat.
I don't think I can touch pork for the next week.

atas dinner and pizza night

Last night we had dinner at Kuriya to celebrate Q's brother's birthday..
Their food was not that fantastic in my opinion..
but the presentation was quite something.
I had the cheese fondue thing which I didn't really like because it was strange miso cheese that was a little too cheesy for my liking..
Mozzarella would have been awesome :P

but the most amazing thing about the whole experience wasn't the food, or the service, or the environment...
It was the HEATED TOILET BOWL SEATS.
Everyone took turns to go test it out
They should have it in every toilet in temperate countries!
I remember braving it in Australia during the winter and boy was that painful.
Literally freezing my butt off.

Tonight, I stayed home and made pizza!
While aiming to satisfy my mozzarella craving, I MIGHT have overdid it.. hahaha..

Original

Puff crust

I made vegetarian friendly cheese and spinach pizza in both original and puff crust versions.
I overdid the cheese on the original version :P
I emptied a whole bag of mozzarella onto it. oops..
The cheese was as thick as the crust and all you really could see was cheese.
NICE :D
xy the (not-so-pro) pizza slicer

good thing I had leah and xy to share them with if not I would have been ultra stuffed.
It was super easy and fun to do!
especially the puff crust version.
So going to do this again :)

14

Today was quite awesome.
I self-declared an off day today :)
Had a lot of fun doing a whole lot of walking and enjoying the day with Q.
Twelve hours of walking around really doesn't tire me out as much as 5 hours of work.
It's quite amazing.
But I guess it's because I don't need to use my brain much while walking around aimlessly while work is full on brain work.
:)
okay.
Time to rest up for the rest of the awesome weekend :)

Mozzarella craving

I have this strange HUGE craving for mozzarella cheese.
It's been going on for a while now..
I made Q order pizza with just the cheese on Friday so that I could satisfy my cravings but the pizza took forever to come and when it finally did, the cheese was no longer stretchy and chewy.
So the craving wasn't satisfied..
then it just seemed wrong to eat pizza again after we just did on Friday..
and when I wanted to have cheese sticks on Sunday, Q said: EW. IT'S THE FROZEN KIND. (or something along those lines.)
so because this craving has been festering in me for the longest time, it has grown to a size too huge to ignore.
Tomorrow, I WILL drop by NTUC and get a bag of mozzarella
and use the puff crust in the freezer
and make some puff crust cheese pizza, Australian dominos style.

The rainbow after the storm

This week is turning out to be awesome.
God probably decided that I had a horrible week last week and needed some cheering up.
Q is free from most academics and is in a mini holiday mood which is great because it's holiday week!
Only 3 days of work this week.
I took Thursday off because it's special :)

Although I was a little hesitant, I'm glad Q convinced me that it was possible to squeeze in a movie before I started work this morning.
Made my whole day a little different.
And it was really great that both my kids were really really good today :)
And we watched shutter island!
It was slightly scary...
but really quite good.
So this has been a really fabulous start to a week that is promising to be quite awesome :)

Finally the weekend!

I have never been so happy that the week is over.
This week has been crazy busy full and I'm craving for some time just bumming around and wasting my life away.
I plan to have a self-indulgent weekend.
Work this week was crazy challenging, stress levels are at an all time high.
I've never felt this overwhelmed in a long time.
The last time was probably when I was a month away from my thesis deadline and my supervisor was away on indefinite sick leave.
I have to remember to keep breathing and just keep on looking forward.
Things will get better. I just know it will.

Some of life's lessons are learnt the hard way.

I was so sleepy a moment ago and now I am wide awake.
My mind is super active at this moment and I wish it would stop.
Oh well..
good thing I only start work in the afternoon tmw.

Recently, I have learnt not to trust men so much.
A combination of personal experiences, recounts from people around me and stuff I hear on the radio has taught me a couple of things.

1. You can't really trust anyone.. even if you've known that person for years.
The severity of damage seems to be proportionate to the number of years you've known the person.
Never take things for granted.
Thinking it'll never happen doesn't mean that it won't.

2. Never forget how to be single. You never know when you'll need it.
Quen says you'll know when you are headed for a breakup.
But then there are so many people who never saw it coming.
And anyway, Quen's a guy too.
so.....

Seems like a very bleak and pessimistic view but it's that for now.
As they say, have no expectations, and you will not be disappointed.

This week is crazy busy week.
I will never allow myself to have a week like this ever again if I can help it.
But I'm telling myself it's okay because next week, I'm taking a day off and I'm having a long long weekend.
I'm also really thankful that even though it really seemed like I was about to fall sick last friday, I'm really very well other than a slight cough :)

I missed free cone day today :(
I had a full schedule from 12pm which is when free cone day starts :( :(
But nevertheless, today was quite awesome!
I had brunch with Q at KAP before work,
then met up with aisyah, drea and shir for some good quality girl time after work :)
I'm really sleepy now after a very hard day at work and a whole lot of social activities.
Time to get some shut eye and prepare to face the next three equally packed days!

fly day

I always look forward to the weekend..
And Fridays are always the easiest to wake up and go for work because I know that after that it's rest time!
I zoooooomed down to NTUC to get groceries,
I came home and wet wiped the car down...
because I'm lazy :(
and the trees at my kid's place were firing fruits
so I had purple juice all over the windscreen and windows.
Now I've put away all the groceries,
did a bit of wiping and cleaning of the place
and I'm cooling down before taking a shower...

The bad thing is that my ears are blocking up
which normally means a viral infection.
And that means a major sick period :(
BUT I JUST GOT WELL!! *pout*
I really hope it's nothing.
The last time I had this, I fainted during church service..
and to make things even more scary, I'm playing keyboards this Sunday...
please please please no.
If it happens again I'll be nicknamed 'faint girl' for sure :(

I shall down a cup of vitamin C and pray for the best.
FINGERS CROSSED!

Things I hope to do before the year ends

Seriously de-clutter my wardrobe
Cook more
Learn to have better meals
Make pizza from scratch
Make a large variety of salads that even Quen would eat as a meal
Convince my parents to change the sofa set
Go night cycling again
Make a gingerbread neighbourhood

People who snore always fall asleep first.

QUEN HAS FINISHED HIS THESIS! :)
We have more or less concluded that I'm much more excited and happy about this fact than he is.
And this week is apparently the second last week of school.
I'm kind of excited to see how things are going to be when both of us are working :)
I feel like we should make full use of his relatively a lot more free schedule before he starts work..
but there isn't a lot of time given that he still has exams and assignments
and he starts work immediately after finishing exams.
And... work has been draining me of my energy lately..
I have been sleepy for most of this week.
On Monday when I went over to Quen's for dinner, I was falling asleep while watching tv after dinner.
That was only about 8pm..
The entire week, I've felt totally sapped of energy by 9 plus, 10..
and the only reason why I'm still up past 10 today is because I managed to have almost 2 hours of nap time this afternoon.
Every morning, even though I've slept way over 8 hours, I feel like I could do with another couple of hours.
I think it's probably due to the increase in work load..
and this week has been quite a stretch.

The other possible reason is the ridiculous dreams I've been having..
and these dreams are almost like inception..
I dream that I'm dreaming,
or I dream that I woke up from a dream and started to tell people about the ridiculous dream..
And then a lot of the time after a particularly challenging day at work, I continue on my quest to overcome these challenges in my dreams.
I actually dream that I am working.
I think it's high time I took a day off..
And being an eager slacker, I've already planned it :)
I'm going to squeeze in as much sleep as I can now so that when the day off comes, I will be FILLED WITH ENERGY and I won't end up just sleeping the day away.

World Autism Day

This weekend is really chock full with activities.
I will have reserve another night during the week just to sit at home and slack.
Today I attended the World Autism Day held at Rainbow Centre in Yishun this morning..
Half didn't want to go because I was so sleepy but I'm glad I did.
I was rewarded with really cute dancing kids :)
They really showed how much hope children with ASD have.
Made me grin like a proud parent even though none of the kids were mine :P
And God being the AMAZING God He is sat me next to this lady who worked with children from the age of 9 to 13..
We started talking and gave me a lot of valuable advice and input to help me in my current struggle with a 10 year old :D
I'm really REALLY glad I went.

Tomorrow is another full day of activities and I'll need all the energy I can get.
Time for bed!
