I'm getting excited because it's almost December, which means it's almost Christmas!
4 more weeks of work before I have my week long holiday :)
I'm already starting to think about what I will bake this year.
From frosted cupcakes and snowflake cookies to Christmas themed cake pops.
I know I'm going to end up with too many ideas and too little time
But I am going to try my best to bake as many ideas as I can :)
Willing baking buddies are welcome!

Also looking for taste testers.
Please send your resume, a picture of your taste buds with the authenticity verification stamp from a local doctor to diamanteskies@gmail.com to register.

Growing up.

I kind of expected there to be a point of time in life where I don't want to grow any older.
And I kind of expected it to have already come.
But it doesn't seem so.
I still can't wait to grow older.
I am looking forward to the time when I am totally independent.
To be able to make my own decisions in life, to build my own family, to have my own place away from parental eyes, to even pay my own bills.
To not have to inform people of the timings I come and go from my home (even though that happens only because they want to use my car), and to just basically be able to start something new.

I guess I feel old in some ways...
My back gives me problems when my mattress is too soft,
I wake up at a fixed timing in the morning that is a number much smaller than 10,
My joints get a teensy bit achy when it rains,
I feel out of place when I go to cineleisure or far east,
I sometimes feel weird in forever21,
I prefer quiet nights at home to a crazy night out partying,
I always feel sleep deprived and I sometimes fall asleep in front of the tv at 7.
I can fall asleep at anytime actually, as long as I have somewhere to rest my head.

But, I still can't wait to grow up.
33 days to Christmas!!!!!!!! :D

New this week: A new mattress
The old one was too soft for my aging back.
I can't believe I'm saying 'aging back' and 'too soft'.
Q and I made a trip to Ikea and bought the firmest mattress I could afford.
They delivered it the very next day (yay for amazingly fast service)
and I fell into deep sleep that very afternoon.
Maybe because I haven't been able to sleep properly so I slept super soundly for over an hour in the late afternoon without the fan and aircon.
It was kinda raining so I guess it wasn't that warm
but I slept SUPER soundly.
Even though it still has that annoying 'new smell' in it
I have been sleeping very well :)
I'm very pleased.

Sick again

I've been sick a lot lately.
Had the stomach flu a couple of times this year already,
the flu has hit me countless times
Had suspected food poisoning just a couple of days ago.
And now, I'm down with a major flu virus.
Fever, headaches, sore throat, stuffed nose that is running at the same time, cough...
The works.
I've been ordered by the doctor to stay in bed for two whole days.
I survived one day of doing absolutely nothing...
Mostly because I was knocked out by the medication given to me for most of the day
But tomorrow, I might try to be more useful.
If I'm not so drugged out tomorrow, I will...
1. Give my room a little bit of cleaning
2. Do the sequence and chords for this Sunday's worship set
3. Try to put in a couple of hours of work

I think I shouldn't try to be TOO ambitious.
But I do want to do something with my time other than just lay in bed and sleep.
Makes me feel very lethargic and icky.

Long weekend! :)

Q and I always end up eating the same few things every time we go out and eat.
It's usually either pizza or prata..
So we decided since it was the long weekend but he's not going to be around for most of it,
we need to make full use of whatever time we have and BE ADVENTUROUS.
So we checked out Genki Sushi at Orchard central because he has been wanting to go there for the longest time.
At first I didn't think much about it..
I just knew it as the sushi bar with iPads.
BUT WOAH.
SO BLOWN AWAY.
The iPad ordering thing wasn't that much of a big deal to me..
BUT, the TRAIN 'WAITERS'.
SO. COOL.
basically, you order your food and it comes delivered to you via a little train that will stop wherever you are seated.
It will definitely entertain the kids,
but it might also make them order more than they can actually eat just to see the train come and go.
While we were there, there were these two overly enthusiastic kids seated at the table behind us.
When I went to get a glass of ice water, they were super impressed with the water dispenser (Which btw was nothing extraordinary at all)..

Boy: How do I use this?
Girl: You press the button and the water will come out. See?
Boy: WOAH! let me try!
*pushes button and the water goes into the cup*
Boy: WOAH! That was cool man!
Girl: Yeah! That was cool man!

Then we went downstairs and walked at the little bazaar they were having.
There was a Snack UP booth selling some prawn crackers that were made in a very unique way.
(They spelt block wrongly. hajio.)
The woman pours some powder into a round hole in this device,
pushes a lever down,
and in a few seconds, it pops up and a prawn cracker appears!
Super fun to watch and super tasty too!

A very very awesome day in general :)

This month is a month of love.

Seriously, too many weddings happening at once.
But it's nice.
It's great to celebrate love.
It's the perfect chance to forget about all the hate and death there is in the world for a moment and just celebrate the joining of two people in love.
I avoided saying two people in perfect love because today, divorce is a very real thing.
But let's avoid becoming morbid and pessimistic.

Although in the past I've loved weddings, I think I appreciate them a whole lot more now...
Being in a relationship myself has caused me to see it in a different light.
I think it's very very encouraging to know that it is very possible for the happiness, the joy, the agreements, the laughter, the good memories and love to surpass all the quarrels, disagreements, differences, tears and heartache we go through in every relationship.
And not just merely scrapping through, but be enough to make you decide that you want this for the rest of your life.

Christmas countdown: 52 days! :)
